Privacy Policy

OVERVIEW

PATCHED. ("we", "us") is a personality quiz that generates humorous patch notes. We do not require an account. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

DATA WE COLLECT

• Quiz answers & optional name — stored locally in your browser (localStorage). Sent to our server only if you start checkout, so we can bind the payment to your result.
• Shared result links — encoded in the URL path (/p/…). Contains quiz answers and optional first name. No server-side database stores these.
• Payment data — processed entirely by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment status, not card details.
• Email — collected by Stripe at checkout. We use it only to send your unlock link so you can open the full patch on another device.
• Analytics — we use Vercel Analytics to count page views and product events (scan started, checkout, purchase). No personal profiles are created.

DATA WE DO NOT COLLECT

We do not require an account, password, date of birth, or social login. Email is optional and only collected at checkout. We do not sell your data. We do not use your quiz answers for AI training.

LOCAL STORAGE

Your quiz progress, results, and unlock status are saved in your browser's localStorage. Clearing browser data removes them from that device. After payment you get a signed return link (emailed if you provided an email) that unlocks the same patch on any device.

THIRD PARTIES

• Stripe — payment processing. See Stripe Privacy Policy.
• Vercel — hosting, CDN, and Web Analytics. Standard server logs may include IP address and request metadata. See Vercel Analytics privacy.
• Resend — if configured, sends the unlock email after payment. See Resend Privacy Policy.

YOUR RIGHTS (EU / GDPR)

If you are in the EU, you have rights to access, rectify, and erase personal data. Because we store minimal data server-side, most data is under your control via your browser. For payment-related requests, contact us with your Stripe receipt.
