Privacy Policy

OVERVIEW

PATCHED. ("we", "us") is a personality quiz that generates humorous patch notes. We do not require an account. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

DATA WE COLLECT

• Quiz answers & optional name — stored locally in your browser (localStorage). We do not receive this unless you share a result link.
• Shared result links — encoded in the URL path (/p/…). Contains quiz answers and optional first name. No server-side database stores these.
• Payment data — processed entirely by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment status, not card details.
• Analytics — we may use privacy-friendly analytics (e.g. PostHog) to understand usage. No personal profiles are created.

DATA WE DO NOT COLLECT

We do not require email, password, date of birth, or social login. We do not sell your data. We do not use your quiz answers for AI training.

LOCAL STORAGE

Your quiz progress, results, and unlock status are saved in your browser's localStorage. Clearing browser data removes them. Unlock status is device-specific unless you complete payment on the same device.

THIRD PARTIES

• Stripe — payment processing. See Stripe Privacy Policy.
• Vercel — hosting and CDN. Standard server logs may include IP address and request metadata.

YOUR RIGHTS (EU / GDPR)

If you are in the EU, you have rights to access, rectify, and erase personal data. Because we store minimal data server-side, most data is under your control via your browser. For payment-related requests, contact us with your Stripe receipt.
